An electronic ankle monitoring system is designed to prevent criminals from leaving their homes. This solution involves providing the offender with an ankle bracelet and a home unit. The central home unit sends the location data of the ankle bracelet, and if the bracelet moves away from the home unit, authorities are alerted for intervention. This system can incorporate cameras in the home unit, allowing authorities to assess the situation remotely. Face recognition technology can be integrated into the system, extending its application beyond house arrest to neighborhood or area confinement. In cases of restraining orders between individuals, a mobile unit is used instead of a home unit.
